verres a bière 😉) !
La région est magnifique et les gens
accueillants. Allez y en toute confiance !

Review: We spent 3
weeks at Bladanel this July, during the recent heatwave, it
was very hot!!! Lying by the excellent pool provided a great,
welcome relief. The pool is a good size, exceptionally clean
and has a deep end that keeps the water at a pleasant swimming
temperature. It is well maintained by Paul who is a font of
knowledge if you’re new to the area – ask him anything, he
will try to help. The hamlet is small and the neighbours are
very friendly but, as you might expect, speaking a reasonable
level of French is a definite benefit (although not absolutely
necessary in the towns)
We visit the
region regularly and love the area; all the towns and villages
are beautiful, full of history and charm, with their various
Marche Gourmands (night markets) being a highlight for us.
Bladanel is a typically rustic French farmhouse with beautiful
views of the Corbiac valley, it was fabulous watching the deer
feeding in the fields below and the Black Kites and Bee Eaters
in the skies above, not to mention the cattle that seemingly
take themselves out at 7am and come home at 7pm!! The property
offers a lot of outside space with several options to sit ,
eat, take in the view or enjoy a glass of the local wine – we
even sat out and watched a spectacular thunderstorm one
evening.
The local
Bastide town of Tournon d’Agenais has a small number of
restaurants, a lovely boulangerie, convenience store (with
practically everything you may need during your stay!!) and a
fabulously lively night market on Fridays during the
mid-summer months. Take note though, the walk from Bladanel
takes nearly an hour, not 30 mins as suggested by Google, and
it includes a couple of stretches of busy road.
We know the
French like their shutters to keep out the heat but even with
those, as we experienced the very high temperatures of this
summer, we found that the bedrooms were very hot and it was
difficult to sleep, they would definitely benefit from air
conditioning of some kind. The farmhouse is fabulous value as
it stands; it has everything you need for a holiday, plenty of
space and is very clean, but, with a little updating, and some
minor upgrades it would definitely justify a premium.

Review: We had a splendid week at Bladanel in the
middle of June. It was our twelfth visit and was as good as
any of the weeks that we have spent there. It is in a
wonderful location deep in the peaceful countryside with
only the usual agricultural noises associated with rural
France.
The
house has thick walls and very effective shutters which kept us
cool in spite of temperature the high thirties.
The pool is brilliant and is well maintained. Altogether a
fantastic week and we have already booked for next year.
We
have stayed at Bladanel several times over the years and have
always enjoyed the beautiful setting and amazing views. The
house is rustic, but comfortable and has worked well in all
weather conditions. The outside areas are the real star, lovely
pool and great spaces to sit, eat and relax. We hope to come
again soon…
